Welcome to the 2019 read-along

Hello! And thank you for deciding to join this summer’s read-along of The Goldfinch. If you’re receiving this email: congratulations, you’re all signed up. The only other thing you’ll need is a copy of the novel… but you already knew that, right?

So, a quick note on how this thing works; it really couldn’t be simpler. Below is a schedule listing the page milestone for each week; every Sunday throughout June & July you’ll receive an email from me discussing the novel up to the listed point.

We’ll be reading the book at roughly 15 pages per day, or 100 pages per week, and the only rule I’d ask you to abide by is: if you’ve read ahead, please don’t openly discuss the novel beyond the current milestone.

Speaking of discussion, whilst it’s by no means mandatory, I do like to hear from participants during the read-along. If you have thoughts or feelings about the novel, or anything read-along related, you can message me directly, or you can post it somewhere with the tag #sippedink and I’ll try to look out for them. This sort of stuff is often my favourite part of putting the newsletter together, so thanks in advance.
