In 2014, I started a summer read-along project as a way to (essentially) peer pressure myself into finally completing David Foster Wallace’s giant-sized novel Infinite Jest (1996). I assembled a small group of like-minded readers, and we had a good time reading the book together and sharing our thoughts. Each weekend I sent out an email newsletter, with notes on the week’s reading.
The read-along has now become an annual summer tradition: a growing group of readers take on a lengthy novel together, and I send out a newsletter each Sunday discussing our progress. Below you’ll find archives for the eight volumes of the read-along thus far:
