Sipped Ink vol 1 issue 8
Infinite Jest pp465-5__
Here’s the thing: this was always going to be a challenge. I purposely set this thing up with a schedule and tried to rally as many of you around me as possible to avoid the potential outcome of failing to complete Infinite Jest for a fourth time. Thus far I have been having a great time reading the novel, but this week the excitement of reaching the half-way point was tempered a little by the fact of my slipping behind for first time in the project.
At the time of writing it’s Sunday evening and my progress with the book is roughly where it should have been on Thursday. Not disastrous, but enough that the 40 or so pages I have ahead of me to even get back to square seem a little daunting. I’m not the only one of our number who has faced this:
@infinitejetzt Despite a serious Sunday Catch Up attempt I am 1 full week behind. It’s giving me the fantods. Howz everyone else getting on?

and it was really heartening to see a couple of you cheering each other on:
@ramblingsblog_ @infinitejetzt @rightshenanigan Glad its not just me! Still enjoying it just completely struggling to put the hours in.

as well as to have other folks steadily keeping up the pace:
Today’s ten pages of @infinitejetzt covered @HerefordLibrary before a stroll to @BIHHereford for #fishandchips from @aruleoftum - onwards!

and even one of us completing the book waaaaay ahead of schedule:
After two months and five days I’ve finally finished. Brain = wrinkled. http://t.co/FF9wiObeSl

So, sorry there’s not much of a progress post this week, except to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being part of this. I do of course aim to be back up to speed by the time next Sunday rolls around… but we’ll see.
