Pembrokeshire
Last week we spent a few days on the Welsh coast, at a place named Moylegrove — a little south of Cardigan. We were staying in a birch shepherd’s hut, part way down one of the narrowest, twistiest roads I’ve ever encountered, in an area where GPS, data services, and phone signal of any kind feared to tread.
We managed to fit quite a bit into the days, visiting Cardigan, Tenby, Fishguard, an Iron Age settlement, and a five-millennia old burial mound of standing stones. We also spent time walking the Stackpole Loop (Stackpole Quay → Barafundle Bay → Stackpole Head → Broad Haven → Bosherton Lily Pools), the area near Strumble Head lighthouse, and more of the coast at Ceibwr Bay.
The lack of any form of signal in our hut shaped our evenings. We played card games, listened to BBC 6Music Radio, and read paperbacks with mugs of hot chocolate at hand.
